Anniversary Visit Number 4!

Yesterday, the school community of the Ohm-Gymnasium in Erlangen was awarded a donation check for digital projects as part of our anniversary celebrations for its commitment. In a round table discussion, the students discussed entrepreneurship, study and career with business@school-advisory board members Corinna Schittenhelm (Schaeffler AG) and Dr. Andreas Dinger (BCG).

For over seven years, the Ohm Gymnasium in Erlangen has been one of the more than 70 schools in Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Albania and Switzerland that participate in the project every year. The school teams compete with over 1,000 high school students in the competition for the best business idea and are supported by supervisors from the business community.

Corinna Schittenhelm, Managing Director, Human Resources and Labour Director of Schaeffler AG, is an advisory board member at business@school. At yesterday's event in Erlangen, she answered the questions of the business@school participants on the topics of entrepreneurship, study and career and encouraged them: "You learn best when you do things yourself and try out yourself. Business@school is just right for that."

Also Dr. Andreas Dinger, Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG, accepted the invitation to Erlangen and advised the students to start their careers: "It is enormously important that you find a heart project in the future. Then you will come far and also be successful as young founders." Afterwards, he handed over the headteacher Dr. Nathali Jückstock-Kießling, on behalf of the educational initiative, issued a donation check for 500 euros for digital projects at the school.

In June 2023, the 25th winning team will be selected at the big business@school Germany final in Munich. Most recently, a team of pupils from the Ohm-Gymnasium moved into the final of the education initiative in 2021. The team's idea: "Thorsten", a lamp holder that allows each lamp to be integrated into any smart home system, thus saving customers costs.
