Alessandro, Davide, Emilia, Greta, Vittoria, Loreley, and Tommaso from the Deutsche Schule Milan applied for the Aviation Special Prize in the 2023/24 school year with their analysis of the airline Wizz Air – and were selected as the winning team by Lufthansa! The prize? An exclusive day at Lufthansa in Frankfurt. At the Lufthansa Aviation Center, the team had the opportunity to present their work to top-level Lufthansa representatives.

Dr. Jörg Beißel (CFO, Lufthansa Airlines), Shirley LaFleur-Fritsche (Business Unit Controller, Delvag Versicherungs-AG), Simon Rimrod (Vice President, Head of Network Management, Lufthansa Group), and Karin Zwer (Revenue Manager Pricing & OD Steering, Joint Venture A++, Lufthansa Group) asked the team their questions and engaged in lively discussions with the next generation of aviation experts about their ideas and opinions.

After a shared lunch overlooking the departing planes at Frankfurt Airport, the team also had the chance to visit Lufthansa’s maintenance hangars. There, they gained fascinating insights into the maintenance and repair work on Lufthansa's fleet.
